It goes without saying that our (most) favourite place to shop for ribbons is Mokuba on Queen Street in Toronto and ... we decided to take some time this week to visit and enjoy! The quality and style of ribbons that we find in this store is mind-boggling. And, although we have our 'go to' favourites that we use routinely in our handmade designs, there is always something new to discover.
They have every colour and style imaginable so a visit can be overwhelming (to say the least). Thankfully, they allow you to purchase in smaller quantities as some of their more expensive ribbons run upwards of $60 per metre. Stripes, polka dots, silk, velvet, lace, organdy, straw and the list goes on. We love the elegance and uniqueness that these ribbons add to our cards and mixed media items. And, I can use them staging as well. Adding ribbon to items in a room is a great way to introduce small amounts of colours here and there (tie them around vases or pillows, use them as visible picture hangers or even create ribbon artwork). The possibilities are endless!
